A media workshop for Pakistani journalists held in Oslo

A media workshop for Pakistani journalists visitng Norway and based in Norway was held in Oslo the capital city.
The workshop was organised by Pakistan Union Norway headed by its chairman Ch Qamar Iqbal while it was conducted by senior journalist Syed Sibtain Shah. UK based veteran journalist Mr Ahmed Nizami spoke on comparison of main stream media and social media. He raised his ideas about such new trends in the media and rising challenges for the media.

Syed Sibtain Shah, who is executive editor of Overseas Tribune, talked about codes of ethics of journalism and writing skill including news, report and article writing. Lady journalist from UK and Editor Khalish Ms Kausar Khan raised issues of overseas Pakistanis and role of media.

The workshop was attended by senior journalist and Chief Editor Karwan Norway Syed Mujid Ali, Chief Editor daily Shana Beshana Gujrat Syed Waqar Gilani, correspondent for Dunya TV in Norway Aqeel Qadir, Chief Editor of Gujrat Media Mirza M. Yousaf, freelance writer M. Tariq Ashraf, writers Dr S. Nadeem Hussain and M. Idrees, media person Shahrukh Sohail, Chief Editor Pak Norway Times Mian Safdar, Chief Editor of Dost Nea Watan Dost M. Gondal and representative of Overseas Tribune Poland Zeeshan Ijaz.

Some of the people from different walks of life attended the workshop as observers. They were including Business and Social Personality from Faisalabad Khawaja Sajid Razzak Sikka,  former member city parliament Oslo Naveed Khawar, Social and business person Syed Zaki ul Hassan, Secretary Pakistan Union Norway (PUN) Mali Pervez, publicity secretary Mansha Khan Noonawali and Ch Ashraf from Denmark. At the conclusion, Chairman Pakistan Union Norway Ch Qamar Iqbal expressed his gratitude to the participants. An award was given to Ch Qamar Iqbal by Chairman Khalish Foundation UK of Mr Ahmad Nizami and other award was given to Syed Sibtain Shah for his journalistic services. Pakistan Union Norway also handed over an award to Kausar Khan, the editor of UK based Khalish.

Certificates were also distributed among all of the participants of the workshop. Some more Pakistani media persons were also invited by Pakistan Union Norway for this event but they could not travelled due to some certain reasons. Mr Noordad of APP news agency and Mohammad Bilal of Jilal Watan newspaper in Gujrat were among them.
