Arrest order of land-mafia people for torturing Norwegian Pakistani artist Anwar Kazmi in Lahore

A Pakistani court issued arrest order of some land-mafia people involved in torturing a Norwegian Pakistani Syed Anwar Ali Kazmi.

In his order on Thursday, the Additional Session Judge of Lahore Mohammad Irfan Basra also cancelled bail before arrest of Malik Riaz Mahmood and other culprits involved in this case as saying police should arrest them in order to complete the legal proceeding.

Advocate M. Jamsheid and Aftab Bajuwa appeared before the court on the behalf of the petitioner Anwar Ali Kazmi.

The lawyers argued that Anwar Ali Kazmi is an overseas Pakistani and if justice would not be provided in this case, other overseas Pakistanis may avoid to investment in Pakistan.

It is important to mention that the Norwegian Pakistani artist Awar Ali Kazmi was seriously injured in a brutal attack by a land mafia boss namely Malik Riaz Mahmood (not Riaz of Bahria Town) in Lahore last month.

Syed Muhammad Anwar Ali, 67, who was currently in Pakistan in order to take care his family business of restaurant branch at a rental property opposite to Bahria Town Main gate in Lahore, had received serious injuries in the attack.

Malik Riaz and his people also robbed money and other personal belongings to Mr Anwar Ali. The land lord further ordered his guards to raid rental property of the restaurant and beat up the employees and seal the restaurant. Police of Sunder police station Lahore had lodged a FIR on request of Anwar Ali Kazmi.

Pakistani journalist Syed Sibtain Shah termed the Anwar Ali Kazmi as a brave man for legally defending his case in the complex situation of Pakistan.
