Sinsen Cricket Club secures the Norwegian Cricket Premiership title with a superb win at Stovner Ground – Oslo (Norway). A memorable Sunday 23.09.2018 for Sinsen Cricket Club. Sinsen Cricket Club A team convincingly defeated Star Cricket Club to secure their 11th win of the season and the Norwegian Cricket Premier League title. Sinsen CC won the toss and Elected to bat first. After 40 overs Sinsen CC scored 275 runs in loss of 9 wickets. Sinsen CC bowled out Star CC scored on 190 runs all out and won the match. Nadeem Qureshi blasting 71 runs in 31 balls were the significant part of the match, this performance gave Nadeem Man of the Match award.

Beside Nadeem, Khizer Ahmed with 54 Runs, Waqas Ahmed taking 4 wickets in his bowling spell was the other highlights of the match. In Norwegian Cricket Premier League 10 teams contesting with each other in 2 rounds of season. Each team plays 18 matches. To win the Premier League teams should win maximum matches and must got maximum points from every playing match. After 17th round Sinsen CC won 11 matches, lost 3 matches and got 3 matches drawn. Sinsen CC is leading the league with 58 points before last round. Last round of Norwegian Cricket premier League will be played on Sunday 30 September 2018. Sinsen Cricket Club is winner before last round because none of other 9 teams have chance to reach the 58 points.

Sinsen CC is also one of Norway’s oldest clubs, established in March 1986. The club is also winner of first Norwegian cricket League title in 1992. Sinsen Cricket Club visited and played matches & tournaments in different part of world, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Malta, England, Thailand, Dubai, Morocco, Cyprus and Holland. Cricket in Norway Today, there are 67 cricket clubs in Norway with 5000 active members. League play is organized into six divisions for men and one division for women. Cricket is being played across all ages and is recognized as Norway’s most diverse sport. Cricket grew slowly through the 1980s before interest picked up significantly in the 1990s.

The Norwegian Cricket Federation was established in 1994 and, in June 2000, Norway gained affiliate members with the ICC. In May 2007, cricket received confirmation as a recognized sport in Norway when the Federation was granted membership into the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF). In 2016, Norway hired a fulltime head of sports and national team coach for the first time, with an eye towards developing and implementing a modern youth development program. Recently, focus has been on building more cricket grounds and developing a strong organizational culture built on development and first-class governance.
